1. Overview

Parrot: Smart Announcement Bar is a Shopify Theme App Extension that lets merchants add scrolling announcement bars, logo strips, and promotional tickers to their storefront. This policy describes what data is collected and how it is handled.

2. Data We Collect

All banner content (text, links, images, and style settings) is entered by you in the Shopify Theme Editor and stored within your own Shopify theme. The App does not maintain a separate database of merchant content.

If you contact us for support, we may retain the information you share in that exchange, such as your store URL and a description of the issue.

3. How We Use Your Data

Data is used solely to deliver the App's functionality: rendering banners on your storefront and responding to support requests. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

4. Third Parties

Shopify

The App runs on the Shopify platform. Shopify's own privacy policy governs data handled through their infrastructure. See shopify.com/legal/privacy.

Google Fonts

Some style presets load fonts from Google Fonts. When a visitor views a banner using one of these presets, their browser contacts Google's servers, which may log their IP address. See Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Banner settings are retained as part of your Shopify theme for as long as the App is installed. When you uninstall the App, any data held outside of your Shopify theme is deleted. You may also request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected].

6. Storefront Visitors

The App does not directly collect or store personal data from your storefront visitors. Your own Shopify privacy policy governs how your store interacts with customers.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision.
